OMFG! What a blast all this was!! It was great to finally put faces on a lot of the names I've known for so long!! Steve, thanks for all the effort you put into making this so much fun! It was als great to finally meet Paul (AZ ZBUM) for the first time! He's got some great pics to post I'm sure!!!! ;) We had a wee bit too much beer Friday night.........
Anyway, here's an assload of pics I took..... Goldie.... Black 2+2 NA, dressed very nicely: 240Z V8 Conversion "Scarab", the Branson Z Fest's People's Choice FIRST PLACE WINNER! A Goldie Z31 - Unknown owner A Goldie 280Z I like the color, almost considered this color for my 2+2: Obviously where the owner of the above Z got his color idea! Tim's 525RWHP 350Z and THIRD place winner of the Branson Z Fest People's Choice (Congrats Tim, beautiful Z!): 280Z with a 'questionable' wing.......sorry, I couldn't help it... Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
:) I hope i can go next year!

Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
Yeah once you get moved to the mainland, you best show up. We're already working on next year. Maybe we'll pull a rabbit out of the hat with this one. No date as yet. My vert will be there even if I have to trailer it in.
Chris guess the suspension will have to wait till I get the leak fixed. Talked to Nissan and they have no idea if the pump was done with the TB service at 115k. Oh and I may have found a helicopter for next year real cheap. |
Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
i will definitely be there next year, im not missing another freaking one.

Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
Hey everybody, David Sommer here winner of the peoples choice. I'd like to thank everybody that voted for my car, it was quite an ordeal to make this event with the twinz. Hats off to my wife Lisa for going along with this "big idea" of mine to take the whole family, she drove over at 3am Saturday morning so the boys could be there.
I need to know exactly who to ask for permission to use the above photos of the Scarab for Sport Z magazine. Ken Frakes who covered the event (freelance) for SportZ unfortunately deleted the Scarab pictures from his camera and doesn?t want to ?steal? somebody else?s photos. If possible please contact me off line at [email protected] so I can put you in touch with Ken. Thanks again to everybody!!!! David & Lisa Sommer Simon & Elijah the twinz |
Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
Hey Dave,
I am the owner of the site, and the one who took the pictures of your car. You have my permission to use my pics of your car for anything you need. I also have the high res versions stored on my PC. Let me know if you want those too. If they're going in a magazine, maybe a little reference to zmods.org if possible ;) TC |

Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
Man TC you were there??? Crap! I dont know if you remember but i talked to you on here a while ago about how you arent really that far away and about HAZCC and stuff. Man i should have realized that gold car was yours. Everytime we passed it everyone was like man that car is so nice, we thought it was grey at night the first time we saw it though. Man im angry I didnt get to meet/talk to you. :(
O and btw Matt, The grey car with the body kit, He is a really really cool guy and ya the car grows on you I like it now. And another impressive thing is, its a 1990 with like 30k on it :o But ya sorry i wish i could have met you :( |

What car was yours? I associated a lot of people I met by their cars.... It might jog my memory! I was thinking about joining HAZCC, but I wouldn't make it to KC too often for meets.... I'm sure there's other benefits........ :D I'll look into it a little more. |

The other pearl white one was pete shulte's and he has jspecs where as i dont. But i dont think i met you i only really hung out with some of the guys from hazcc and the nebraska crew. |
Re: Branson Z Fest 2006

j/k great pics. i wish i could be there... maybe next year ill fly there :) |
Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
Kyle, I remember seeing your car, it came in the parking lot next door once and I first thought it was Pete's. I'm terrible with names, but remember cars usually. I did have gaps in time on ocassion.
Kenz if you fly in you'll get the greatest distance award. |

did you drive the vert? and im flattered that i was almost mistaken for Pete's car. :) I honestly dont care a whole lot about the appearence of my car. Its just to the point where it looks ok and not like total crap. I've just put all my attention in to getting it running well and upgrades. |
Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
No the vert decided to piss antifreeze right before leaving to come to Branson, had to unload everything in it and I drove the 35th AE(one with "35th Z" tag on it). It's my wife's car, she drove my truck up with the kids. Really missed it too, it would have been the only 32 vert there this year. It's now in the shop and haven't heard if the leak has been found or not. It never leaked any again. They are also flushing and cleaning the tranny. May just be a cracked fill jug, but it bothered me and if I have doubt's I won't drive it.
Almost mistaken for Pete's car, it was getting close to dark and I had already been hitting the CaboWabo?? But yeah at first I thought it was Pete's car. I think that night(friday) I had promised not to start drinking till almost dark. If it was Thursday I had already drank half a liter of "Viuda de Romero" tequilla from Mexico, by the time it got dark. One thing to remember I really suck at names, plus I wonder around alot and shoot the BS with everyone. |
Re: Branson Z Fest 2006

Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
That's "Nappy's" slicktop from Little Rock Arkansas.
Diflicted, the 89 z31 in 2 tone was also mine, it's a joint venture with a friend and is for sale. At present we have about 12-14 31's and an 81 280zx and I have 1 78 280z and am working on closing on 2 more 280z's a 76 and 78. Did you catch the picture of all the Z's on that truck. Walter owns the truck and also has a Z, so they loaded it and hauled a bunch in. I think there were about 8 cars on it. The Blue 350's owner is called "triple digit" Chris. Last year he was stopped doing 107 I believe it was and had to sit in jail for an hour before getting out. During the pub crawl last year tehre was a band playing at one of the pubs and they made up this song about "triple digit" Chris. Damn that Nebraska bunch are a blast and just a little wild. |
Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
so wait a second. you mean to tell me that you own around 12 z31s? or there are around that many in the club? ....hmm triple digit chris...i like the name. (my name = chris as well)

Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
I had a good time... hehe. And I THOUGHT that gold Z looked familiar!
I also ran my first 12 second quarter mile while in Branson. I was a happy guy. :) :) |
Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
congrats on your 12 seconds pete.

Sorry been gone to eastern Arkansas for a bit. Yes we have somewhere around 12 Z31's right now between me and Skidmore. Plus saturday I got a POS 81 280zx and a 78 280 that's in fair shape(needs clutch). Yesterday coming back from court in eastern Arkansas I located 3 84-86 turbos, all pretty ruff and a 280zx looks fair but couldn't get close enough to look it over, found it in a field sitting on blocks. Will be making calls to track down the owner. Also located a 74 260 auto with a tons of extra parts in a barn. The people said it was there when they bought the place 2 years ago. So now guess I've got a 74 260. |

Does a link exist for those pictures? I wanna see them. I also wanna hear that song about Chris too lol. Wonder the lyrics might be. |
Re: Branson Z Fest 2006
Drew, this was 3 years ago. I have a lot of the pictures at one of my photobucket accounts.
Never got the lyrics to the song. Check www.bransonzfest.com and sign up for the forum there. |
